Transportation

Transportation by bus to and from Tremblant is included in the price.

Lodging

Accommodations at a Five Star Resort Style Hotel minutes away from the gondola in the village.

The rooms are suite-style rooms with a kitchenette that will accommodate 4 people.

Amenities at the hotel include hot tubs.

At the Slopes

Lift tickets are included for three days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Ski/Snowboard rentals and lessons are not included. Rentals and lessons are available separately at the resort. Please see the resort website for more details.

Payment

The cost of the trip is $350 per person.

To sign up, please follow the payment instructions below:

  • Make a cheque out to "Ski and Snowboard Club"
  • Go to Alterna Savings in York Lanes, across from the Doctors' Office
  • The teller will provide you with a receipt. Keep it, as this is your proof of payment.
  • Email us that you paid at freedomridersclub@gmail.com. If you are paying for more than one person, please make sure to include the contact information of the persons you are paying for.

Please note that there are no refunds for the trip, although exceptional situations may be considered.

Boarding

We will board the bus Friday, January 11th at 3am at the Canlan Ice Sports (formerly known as "Ice Gardens").

Frequently asked questions about boarding

What do I need to show to get on the bus?

You will be required to show your bank receipt. What kind of ID should I have on me for the trip?

You should have your student ID and a driver's license or other kind of government-issued photo ID. How much stuff can I bring on the bus? Are there any limits?

The trip is fully booked, so we have a limited amount of space. Please be considerate and bring a reasonable amount of luggage.

Suggested amount of luggage:

- one carry on bag (backpack or smaller)

- one bag for skiing gear, clothes and food

- one ski / snowboard bag (We take no responsibility for damaged gear.)

What happens if I am late?

Please don't be late! If something comes up and you are late, we will try to contact you using the cell phone number you provided to us by e-mail. If we cannot reach you using your cell phone we will leave in 15 minutes.

If we can reach you, then the amount of time we wait is at the discretion of the organizers.

What we recommend you bring?

If you intend to ride the terrain park you must wear a helmet – this is not our rule it is Tremblant’s rule (or rather Intrawest).

Quebec is colder than Ontario, so keep that in mind when you pack, make sure you have a balaclava or something else to keep your face warm.

Because we will have kitchenettes in our rooms, bring some food for lunch, something easy to prepare and small enough to fit in your bag; Kraft Dinner, Hot Dogs etc.

Itinerary

Jan. 11th

  • 02:30
    • Please arrive at York University Ice Gardens around 2:30 AM as we will need some time to check receipts.
    • Check the maps included in this document for where to park.
    • Please don’t park in the turnaround area in front of the main doors of the ice gardens, the bus will not be able to turn around if there are fifty cars parked in this area.
    • Try the doors of the ice gardens to see if they are open, last year they were open and we were all able to wait inside… we are hoping that the same will be true this year.

    • Bus arrival time, bus loading.
  • 03:00
    • Departure time, if anyone has not arrived by this time they will be contacted at this time.
  • 03:15
    • We leave at this time, even if people have not arrived yet… no refunds will be provided if you do not show up on time.
  • 11:00
    • Estimated time of arrival to Tremblant.
    • Bus unloading.
    • We enter hotel and change in a provided room, we also receive our lift passes at this time.
    • We go riding.
  • 16:00
    • At this time we will be able to check into our rooms, you can snowboard until later but this is the earliest time at which you can check into your room.

Jan. 12th

  • Breakfast is provided on this trip, so make sure you take advantage!

Jan. 13th

  • 10:00
    • Checkout time (need to double check this when we arrive).
    • Please have all of your things out of the rooms at this time, we will be able to store our things in a room while we snowboard this day.
